Place a test order

Step 5 of 5 on the path to your first sale. Before you take real money, run one full order yourself. With Stripe in test mode you can shop your own store, “pay,” and watch the order land in your admin — no real charge, no real customer.

Run the order

1. Open your storefront domain in a normal browser tab.
2. Add your Active product to the cart and go to checkout.
3. Choose a shipping option — you should see the rate you set in Step 3.
4. At payment, use a Stripe test card:
   • Number: 4242 4242 4242 4242
   • Expiry: any future date · CVC: any 3 digits · ZIP: any
5. Complete the order.

For Acme Botanicals, that’s one Calm Nerves Tincture plus Standard shipping, paid with the test card.

Confirm it in admin

Back in your admin, check that the order flowed through correctly:

1. Open Orders — your test order should be at the top.
2. Open it and confirm the total reconciles: product price + shipping = what was charged.
3. Walk the fulfillment path: generate a shipping label (test), print the packing slip, and mark it shipped.
4. Confirm the shipment email fired (this needs your email provider connected — see the Settings guide).

If all of that worked, your store is operationally ready. You’ve proven the whole loop: browse → pay → order → fulfill.

Go live

The only thing left is swapping test for real:

• Replace Stripe test keys with live keys (Settings → Integrations)
• Confirm your catalog is complete and Active
• Confirm your domain resolves to your storefront
• Place one small real order end to end, then refund it
• Confirm team logins and order/shipment emails

No rush. A soft launch — live keys, a quiet day, one real order — is the safest way to open. You can always keep testing alongside.
