Publish your storefront
Step 4 of 5 on the path to your first sale. “Publishing” isn’t a single button — your storefront is already running at your domain. This step is about making sure a real visitor sees a finished store: your product live, your brand applied, and your navigation in place.
Make your product live
A product is only on the storefront when its status is Active.
- Open the product from Products.
- Set the Status dropdown from Draft to Active.
- Visit its storefront URL (
/products/<slug>) to confirm it renders.
For Acme Botanicals, flipping the Calm Nerves Tincture to Active is the moment it appears in the shop. To pull a product back later, set it to Draft; to retire it for good without losing its order history, use Archive product.
Dress the storefront
Under Storefront in the left nav, set the basics a first-time visitor notices:
- Branding — your logo, colors, and fonts, so the shop looks like your brand, not a default template.
- Navigation — the menu shoppers use to move around. Add your categories (e.g. Acme’s Tinctures, Teas, Salves) so products are easy to find.
- Pages — optional storefront pages like About or Shipping & returns.
None of this is required to take an order, but it’s what turns a working store into one a stranger will buy from.
Confirm it’s live
- Open your storefront domain in a normal browser tab (not the admin).
- Confirm your Active product shows up, opens, and can be added to a cart.
- If the domain doesn’t resolve yet, your DNS may still be pointing elsewhere — that’s usually handled with your operator. See the domain notes in the Settings guide.
Test vs. live. While Stripe is in test mode your storefront is fully shoppable, but only with test cards — real customers can’t be charged yet. You flip to live in the final step.
